Welcome from the CEO
As I approach 4 years since I joined MBH, I’d like to share some of our changes that we made, both inside and out. We are proud to be helping more patients every year than the one before, and as a result have increased staff, expanding our treatment team, and programs for patients. Our psychiatrists has improved patient care by speaking with the family/guardian within the first 24 hours of admission. Our nutritional options for patients have improved, and we’ve upgraded our exterior landscaping, seating and overall ambiance. We’ve trained our staff in DBT, as it has become our therapeutic model for our residential program, and is also integrated in our acute programs.
Every inch of space in our building has been assessed for its’ best use. We have moved and combined our offices, finding ways to create as much space as possible for our patients and their families. Because family therapy is such a big component of our program, we have added extra rooms for group and family therapy sessions and assessments. On the exterior, we have taken advantage of our wooded setting, and promote getting outside whenever possible during a patient’s stay – whether it be a child, adolescent, or adult patient. Patients now have direct access to a newly renovated private courtyard, which has already been a big hit for patients and staff! Moreover, we have just recently replaced all of our patient’s beds.
As the entire country is experiencing an opioid crisis, our detox inpatient program has serviced over 800 patients in just the past 15 months. Recognizing the continued need for opioid continued services, on July 1st, 2018, we began a CD IOP program. As this program expands, we are assisting patients with transportation and in the near future, housing opportunities. We are excited to continue treating addictions post their inpatient stay with us.
